“It is the second time I have participated,” says 78-year-old Heemskerker. “And also the second time I win. I will come again next year. Hopefully with a whole club. There were only three participants now, that’s a shame.”

Peperkamp carefully puts the small cup in the basket of his mobility scooter. “Nice cup, but last year there was another bottle of champagne. We made it with the entire club soldier at Beeckestijn in Driehuis. Now unfortunately only a cup, but well: I am driving home again in Heemskerk. I have already driven twelve kilometers today.”
