The indicator has fallen by 9.9 points to -18.7. Analysts had expected a less severe drop to -12.9 points. Consumer mood is now well below the long-term average, but the indicator is not yet as low as it was at the start of the corona pandemic.
On Tuesday, the National Bank already announced that Belgian consumer confidence collapsed in March. The decrease was the same as in April 2020, but then consumer confidence in Belgium was even lower.
