A 27-year-old man from Koekange was arrested yesterday after crashing into a tree with his car in the night from Saturday to Sunday. After the accident he was nowhere to be seen, but a little later the police could still arrest him.
The accident happened on the Schoonveldeweg in Koekange and the damage to both the car and the trees was strong. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was transferred to the police station in Hoogeveen for interrogation. He is now free again.
