Connie Witteman does not understand that fellow BN people like Monique Westenberg and Leontine Ruiters want to participate in a program like it were 2 fantastic days. “Disgusting.”

They were 2 fantastic days of amazed viewers this summer as the new BN’er show in which past glories such as Frank Masmeijer and marketing mothers such as Monique Westenberg and Leontine Ruiters were locked up to warm up traumas with the help of tissues, tealights and therapy cards. The goal? TV tears. Lots of TV tears.

Disgusting

Disgusting, Connie Witteman thinks so. “I hate all those cry programs, also that of two great days, that everyone is going to talk about their divorce and everything. Then a door is opened, then there is another box and then they know exactly that they grab that emotion when they turn out to be a death,” she says in The world of women.

She continues: “I think it is so disgusting and I think it is disgusting. I have seen it disgusting. I have seen three episodes and I don’t do it anymore. Do you suddenly have to have your whole talk about your private life? There is enough written and then I think: dude, you don’t even know what’s going on.”

“Not my thing”

TV trips cannot stand Connie. “Especially with that program on Sunday evening. That is not my thing. Calling emotions consciously. Then they suddenly get a text on the screen that they have to talk about, while they know what it is about and that it is very deep. I would never participate. Never, never, never.”

She concludes: “You should not consciously create your emotions and go along with it. I would not participate.”
