German professional football wants to increase the net playing times and therefore introduced new guidelines for temporary times. Even those directly affected were surprised, the SC Paderborn benefited from it.

The first matchday in the 2nd Bundesliga has only produced winners and losers. There was no draw in the nine games. Probably there would have been a tie between SC Paderborn and Holstein Kiel last season, but the hosts used the last minute of the exceptionally lavish stoppage time to score the 2-1 win.

When nine minutes of added time were displayed in the Paderborn Arena on Saturday, fans and observers were amazed. Anne Van Eickels, who commented on the game for ARD radio: “Like my colleague, I had expected four or five minutes, but never at nine.”

Bielefeld’s coach for ten minutes of added time: “Nobody understood that”

The reason for the misconception is due to a guideline that has only become known through experience from practice. In Bielefeld, too, spectators and protagonists were surprised that – especially at the stand of 4: 1 for the Arminia – ten minutes against Fortuna Düsseldorf were re -enacted. “Nobody understood that”said Bielefeld’s coach Mitch Kniat, and he revealed that those directly affected by the new guidelines probably knew nothing.

As Alex Feuerhert announced as the spokesman for DFB Schiri GmbH, the innovation goes back to an understanding between his organization and the German Football League (DFL).

The aim is to screw the net season up. The “target window” is 60 minutes. The net season in the past season of the Bundesliga was an average of 57:30 minutes.

Flat rate 30 seconds per goal and change of change

With the new season will be “The length of the stoppage time more adapted to the actually lost playing time”according to Feuerherdt. As usual in competitions of the World Association FIFA, would “Basically, gate make -ups and exchange processes recorded a flat rate with 30 seconds, unless the actual duration deviates significantly up or down”.

If there are breaks or interruptions due to flashing, the use of the video assistant, thunderstorms and also smoke development by Pyro, the Var assistant is stopped and logged.

Shortly before the end of each half, the referee on the square would then be given the recommendation for stoppage time by radio, which is at least planned. It was nine minutes in Paderborn, and since another goal was scored, 10:46 minutes of stoppage time occurred effectively.

That was 46 seconds more than in Bielefeld, although the Arminia had also scored a goal in added time. Referee Patrick Alt, to whom the Düsseldorfers were angry because of other decisions, still whistled after the recommended ten minutes.

In the second half there was five changing slots in Paderborn until the 90th minute ended and the equalizer from Holstein Kiel. In addition, referee Felix Prigan ran to the monitor to check a possible handball at a goal from Paderborn. He only needed briefly to recognize a criminal handball and to refuse to recognize the goal.

In Paderborn are missing Standard calculation four minutes

The moving images show that there were almost two minutes between the gate were killed and decision of the referee after review. For example, Verschlots plus Tor Plus Review would give five minutes. It is not known why four more minutes of stoppage time was recommended.

It can be ruled out that referee Prigan pulled incidents from the first half into the second half. According to the DFB spokesman, this is not allowed.

Almost four more minutes after Var check in Elversberg

In Elversberg, it was shown how an intervention by the VAR can influence effective after -episode time. Four minutes had been displayed, ultimately 7:37 minutes were opened because it had been checked for a possible penalty for the 1st FC Nürnberg, which had collected the 0: 1 shortly before the end of the 90 minutes.

Exactly calculated injury time in Hanover

The slightest stopper time was in Hanover on the first match day, and even the three minutes displayed were still undercut by two seconds.

There had been five change slots and one goal in Hanover between the 46th and 90th minute. The recommended stoppage time was therefore calculated exactly on the basis of the new requirements, which no one can surprise.
