Days of closing lists for Buenos Aires elections, with burning phones and internal in silent mode, a tender of almost 4,000 million pesos that came to light made the foundations of power tremble. The company Tech Security SRL, of the Menem family, won a private security contract to monitor the headquarters of the National Bank for the next two years. In practice it is the continuity of the same company that already provided the service, but this time the uncomfortable fact: one of the partners of that company, up to four days before the assumption of Javier Milei, was nothing less than Martín Menem, today president of the Chamber of Deputies.
This is only the last and best known of the Menem’s businesses with politics, at a time when the family – which for years remained relegated after the end of Carlos’s mandate – again empowered himself from the president’s sister’s hand, Karina Milei. In the heat of the ruling party, the three brothers Menem – Martín, Adrián and Fernando – and his cousin, Eduardo “Lule”, built a political society crossed by businesses that benefit from this present: Menem SA each fulfills a role in the Mileista environment: Martín, in the Chamber of Deputies; Lule, as an advisor at Casa Rosada and Adrián as a collaborator in the shadows. Fernando does not get into politics.
According to the Official Gazette, on December 6, 2023, Martín transferred his Tech Security actions to his brother Adrián. But no one in the government takes the gesture as a real resignation, but as a formal issue. Tech Security was born in 2005, by Fernando and his friend Pablo Vázquez, a neighbor of Núñez. The history of the link between them has a lot of chance: Vázquez’s father owned a bar at the corner of Lidoro Quinteros and Pablo Ricchieri, just 60 meters from the house of the Menem. Fernando followed a coffee. The relationship with the owner’s son was growing, first as a counter talk and then as a society. Today, almost 20 years later, Vázquez has 51% of Tech Security; Fernando, 34%; and the eldest of the Menem brothers, Adrián, 15%. Fernando and Pablo put on another company called Purgato, dedicated to the cleanliness, in which both appear with 25% of the capital each. In 2019, Purgato achieved a tender at the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA). In 2004, Fernando had already tried luck in another area: he founded Tech One Corporation, a company registered for wholesale and minor trade, in addition to repairing vehicles and motorcycles. Tech Security grew firmly. In addition to the recent contract with the Nation Bank, it already had a presence in football clubs such as River and Racing, in the Argentine Soccer Association (AFA), and also in different agencies of the State. Your specialty: security in massive events and institutional headquarters.
The beginnings. The visibility jump of the companies came in parallel with the political rise of the Libertarios Menem. But the first approach with the Milei universe was long before we talk about national positions or armed. In 2021, Tech Security was the company chosen to guard Milei’s campaign bunker at Luna Park, when the libertarian was elected national deputy. That act had a festive tone, a mixture of political myself and rock show, and in security was the Menem family. That bunker was the first sample of confidence between two families that, over time, ended up assembling. With the arrival of Milei to power, Tech Security maintained its rhythm of contracts in the private sector – which today represents 80% of its turnover – but also positioned itself as one of the few signatures of the item with direct arrival to official offices. In the libertarian intern, Martín and “Lule” Menem operate as the own troop of Karina Milei in the federal assembly. They have territory and surname. On the other hand, the advisor Santiago Caputo observes and takes note. In their environment they see the menemist advance as an attempt to co -opt structures, with the advantage of having a Peronist pedigree. The two sides are at war.
The Menem family business did not start with the libertarian landing, although the arrival to power gave them another air. The heart of the business framework is in full Microcentro Porteño, on Talcahuano Street, a few meters from Córdoba Avenue, where the historic Legal Study Menem works. From that legal bunker – which maintains the family name as a registered trademark – operate a large part of the societies that make up the portfolio of the children of Eduardo Menem: Martín, Fernando and Adrián. Beyond Tech Security, the Menem universe includes consultants, real estate, financial and even food supplement laboratories. As stated in the last affidavit presented by Martín Menem, the president of the Chamber of Deputies has participation in several signatures. One of them is PGC SRL, a consultant who channels a large part of the legal and administrative advisory operations of the family group and that was created in 2005. Liberator one also appears, a developer who was also armed in 2005. In the financial item, Figure Mimada SA, a company that, according to official documents, was created in 2012. And if the policy is a background race, there is also a sports connection: Martín Menem declared. The brand of former golfer Daniel Vancsik, today became a national deputy for Missions.
In 2007, the Menem brothers had armed the Golf Management Society. The oldest and fit of the Martín Menem portfolio is that of food supplements. Under the names Gen Tech, Insulow and Tr Nutrition, the deputy ventured, in the late ’90s, in the well -being business, with products oriented to athletes and fitness public. That combo – right, security, sport and money – explains part of the business tour of the family, which moved stealth while freedom progresses took shape. Societies already existed before Martin’s jump to politics, but today they won a new dimension: they went from being private businesses to being part of the radar of power. On that path, the surname Menem settled again, although with another look.
Latest. The fourth Menem does not appear in the direct family tree, but in practice it works as an older brother of Adrián, Martín and Fernando. This is “Lule”, who is called the same as his uncle: Eduardo. The story of “Lule” Menem runs in parallel to that of the children of Eduardo Menem and, in several sections, intersects. He was born in Argentina in the mid -60s. With the 1976 military dictatorship, his parents -Mohamed and Fátimidad emigrated to Syria. At age 15, with the mandatory military service playing the door and the country in conflict, the family sent a letter to La Rioja. They asked if someone could take care of the teenager. The answer came from Eduardo Menem’s house: it was his wife, Susana Valente, who said he would receive it. This is how Eduardo Menem, accompanied by Julio “Chiche” Aráoz, traveled to Yabrud and brought him back. Since then, “Lule” built a political life at the service of his uncle. Today is the right hand of Karina Milei, in charge of guarding the hard core of libertarian power. But it was also close to a murky area: the collateral businesses that orbit around Martín.
One of the most commented cases is the one that involves Sergio Andrés Aguirre, a partner of Martín in Tr Nutrition Srl. In April 2024, Aguirre created a new company: Htech Innovation SA, which by chance also uses the word “Tech”, such as Tech Security and Gen Tech. In the papers, the firm was chaired by María Casandra Mirabelli, Mother of Aguirre. On July 5, three months later, Aguirre entered Casa Rosada with Virginia Montero, auditor of the Osprera social work. The meeting was with “Lule” Menem. It lasted almost two hours and appears in the Official Registry of Hearings of the Casa Rosada. A few days later, on July 18, Htech Innovation expanded its corporate purpose to offer consulting services. The turn was surgical: the social work hired the company – also converted – for more than 40 million pesos. That says invoice No. 2 of the Novel Company, which is dated November 6, according to the Portal El Disenso. That same day, Montero presented his resignation. It is not known why. A relevant fact of this story is that Osprera’s auditor, Marcelo Petroni, has as a private secretary Mirabelli, Aguirre’s mother, that is, fulfills the double function of secretary and supplier.
Behind the scene. The lower profile in this new menemist stage is, paradoxically, the only one who once seemed to have a political heir destination. Adrián Menem was a national deputy for La Rioja between 1999 and 2007. He walked the halls of Congress in the worst years for the surname Menem and then decided to return to family study. During the end of the Kirchner cycle he had some television appearances as a guest to panels of political programs, but immediately chose the behind the scene. Today, without camera or bank, Adrián is the least visible but more functional gear of the scheme. From the historic Legal Study of Talcahuano Street, it manages part of the businesses that his brother Martin cannot sign for form, and also helps with some meetings when necessary. It is a shadow operator who knows the times and actors of power. In the corridors of politics and certain companies, an increasingly installed myth is fed: that Adrián is the true brain of the Clan Menem at this stage. The day -to -day study is in charge of Adolfo Verra, friend of Adrián and fellow of the Faculty. Among the most sensitive files a millionaire is: the attempt to charge $ 13 million to businessman Matías Garfunkel as fees. Verra and Martín Menem advised him in his divorce with Mariana Gersztein, a separation with goods at stake for 500 million dollars. The claim is for 2.5% of that amount. A return, according to the Garfunkel scale.
This new Menem litter is tanned in the swings of the public exhibition. They know what to do business with the State can have consequences. Today, Tech Security has a more oriented equation to the private sector: 80% of its billing comes from clubs, companies and events, and only 20% is linked to public contracts. There was a time when the balance marked 50 and 50, but the thermometer changed. The tender of the National Bank, far from being a noisy triumph, brought complications: with the scandal already on the agenda, from the bank itself they requested an extension of the current contract until August (Tech Security is the current provider of the security of the headquarters of the headquarters of the National Bank). The reason: they will consult the anti -corruption office before renewing.
For the return. The Menem brothers grew up in a house accustomed to power, but also crossed the stage of greatest discredit of the last name. In the first years of Kirchnerism, when the figures of menemism were indicated as part of the decline of the ’90s, Martín Menem went to theater classes with Raúl Serrano and used his mother’s last name: Valente. This was known by Mauricio Davico, former gust and today mayor of Gualeguaychú. Martín looked for him as a friend, precisely because he didn’t know who he was. Now, with the libertarian revival of the 1990s and the success of the series “Menem”, the relatives of the former president feel they can leave the closet. Being Menem was something cool again.
