The SSV Jahn Regensburg averted the opening loss in the 3rd division at the last second. In a actually manageable Danube derby, Joker and birthday child Noel Eichinger scored against FC Ingolstadt in the 96th minute.
FC Ingolstadt and Jahn Regensburg have dramatically separated 1-1 (1-0) draw at the start of the 3rd football league. In the Danube derby, Ingolstadt looked like the safe winner. The former Regensburg Max Besuschkow initially put the Schanzer in the lead (35th). It was only in the sixth minute of stoppage that substitute Noel Eichinger made a much acclaimed compensation in front of the 3,000 guest fans.
Everything new in Ingolstadt and Regensburg
Hüben and over there were no stone on the other during the summer break. While 16 players went in Ingolstadt (including top talent Deniz Zeitler and top scorer Sebastian Grönning), there were even 21 departures in Regensburg and a new coach in the person of Michael Wimmer.
After two artistic choreographies in both fan blocks and with a three -minute delay, referee Christian Ballweg whistled the new season for the FCI and the Jahn. Ingolstadt trainer Sabrina Wittmann had to improvise shortly before the game started because midfield strategist Dennis Kaygın injured himself. Own grown Berkay Öztürk replaced him.
Besuschkow hits and does not cheer
The game initially started. Both teams noted that they changed a lot compared to last season. Regensburg’s new center forward Lucas Hermes failed in the 17th minute by head on the strongly reacting FCI goalkeeper Markus Ponath. On the other hand, Ingolstadt took his first chance to take the lead. The former Regensburg Max Besuschkow of all people met a corner in the second attempt.
“I have great respect for Regensburg,” said Besuschkow afterwards at BR24Sport. The 28-year-old, who played at SSV for three years, refrained from a goal. “I had a very, very nice time there. That I don’t cheers there is like that.”

FCI goalkeeper Ponath only strong, then powerless
In the half-time interview with BR24Sport, Jahn Managing Director Achim Beierlorzer criticized the efficiency of his team in front of the goal and hoped for “more depth” on the offensive. But even in the second half, the guests from the Upper Palatinate struggled to get dangerously into the schanter penalty area.
Shortly before the end, Christian Kühlwetter had the equalizer on his foot, but again Ponath was on hand and fished the attacker’s precise low shot from the corner. In the last of the six after -game minutes, however, the goalkeeper was without an opportunity: Regensburg had broken through again in the person of bricks over the left, his flank landed at Eichinger, who took the ball with his chest and placed with a tight volley shot in the right corner of the goal. For Eichinger there was twice the reason to be happy: the newcomer from Lok Leipzig celebrated its 24th birthday on Saturday.
