False start for the Bundesliga relegated team: VfL Bochum has received a bankruptcy in Darmstadt at the start of the new second division season. The game was Isac Lidberg.
In the 4: 1 (2: 1) for the “lilies” Lidberg (5th, 45th+1, 48.) scored three goals for the hosts in front of 17,500 spectators in the stadium at the Böllenfall goal, also Aleksandar Vukotić (56.). Moritz Broschinski (34th) achieved the interim compensation.
While Darmstadt with coach Florian Kohfeldt, with the victory against a supposed promotion favorite, put a start to measure, it was a classic false start for Bochum, the team of Coach Dieter Hecking, a classic false start in the new season.
Early leadership for Darmstadt
The “lilies” took the lead early – through a quick and lightning -clean attack on the right side. Fraser Hornby led the ball nicely and directly to his storm partner Lidberg, who fed up from an acute angle and put the ball into the right upper corner. The VfL defense was not in the picture at all.
The Bochumers came into play difficult, their first good chance resulted from a mistake by the Darmstadt. A little later, shoes were on the post again when he steered a tight shot from Mats Pannewig from around 18 meters over the crossbar.
But Darmstadt also remained dangerous. In minute 27, Bochum’s goalkeeper Timo Horn was just able to steer the ball onto the post after Hiroki had deducted Akiyama from the penalty area. After a corner, the Bochumers could not clarify the ball.
Bochum uses Darmstadt’s mistakes and is only happy
The hit then fell on the other side. After a long pass into the top, Patric Pfeiffer stumbled with brochinski in a duel, who then had free travel and scored to equalize. Referee Max Burda did not consider Broschinski’s use as a foul, the Var saw it the same way.
Darmstadt only shook himself briefly and then struck back shortly before the break. Marco Richter flanked the ball into the penalty area to Hornby, who only hit the post with a head, but Lidberg was in the right place for Lidberg and dusted off.
Two corners for Darmstadt – two goals
Whatever Bochum had taken place during the break, it was right again. After a corner, the VfL could not clarify the ball, and after a lot of punched at the five -meter room, Lidberg somehow banged the ball into the goal.
A little later, Bochum was in luck. After a free kick, Philipp Hofmann was clearly on the ball in his own penalty area, but shortly before there was an offside position.
The next goal fell – and again after a corner. At the Stand Vukotić completely free and hit the header without any other way.
What can be kept to Bochumers: they did not give up. Through Leandro Morgalla (met the outdoor network) and Ibrahim Sissoko (the gate just missed very narrowly), VfL continued to chance. The 2: 4 no longer wanted to fall.
