Youssoufa Moukoko, which was once so comfortably started, has stalled tremendously in recent years. At BVB, the attacker no longer had a perspective this summer, which is why the 20-year-old decided to restart FC Copenhagen. But the former child prodigy of German football has also been struggling with the Danish champion – and is now also injured.
The waiting continues: Youssoufa Moukoko did not hit her fifth competitive game for FC Copenhagen. At least in the league, he was always allowed to go from the start.
On Friday evening, the away game with promoted FC Fredericia (2-0) ended particularly bitter for the center forward. After 56 minutes, Moukoko had to be injured from the square, and there is still a precise diagnosis.
When asked whether everything was fine with his new protégé, Copenhagen’s coach Jacob Neestrup replied after the final whistle: “No, it is not. He went out of the game with a minor injury. We have to see what that means. It is still too early.”
Of all things, in the excited neighborhood derby with the Swedish champions Malmö FF in the Champions League qualification, Moukoko is now threatening. Both cities only separate one bridge.
Stuttering start to BVB-out
Moukoko has only had one template in the Copenhagen jersey so far. His hope of quickly finding back on track at the traditional Danish club after a completely screwed up rental year in France at OGC Nizza was not yet fulfilled.
The FCK had to transfer only five million euros to BVB to get rid of Moukoko from Dortmund. There the stamp had threatened him as a “eternal talent”.
As the youngest Bundesliga player and goal scorer of all time, the youngster had been trusted, but despite promising approaches, Moukoko could not permanently prevail in Borussia professionals.
After missing the U21 European Championship for formal reasons, he chose a new beginning – until here with manageable success.
