Double European champion Karina Schönmaier won the title in the all-around at the German Gymnastics Championships in Dresden for the first time.

The 20-year-old Chemnitzer secured first place with 53.150 points and thus the successor to Helen Kevric, who had to do without a start because of a serious knee injury.

Schönmaier won EM gold at the premiere of the Mixed competition in Leipzig at the premiere of the Mixed competition together with the German all-round master (Ludwigsburg) and in the jump.

Surprisingly, Lea Celine Wartmann (Chemnitz) secured second place with 50.800 points. Third was Jessica Schlegel from Leipzig with 49,400 points.

An unexpected comeback celebrated Meolie Jauch. In mid-December last year, the 18-year-old had declared her resignation and justified this with mental problems. In doing so, she had triggered the following allegations of abuse at the Kunst Turn Forum in Stuttgart. In the meantime it starts for TS Neckargym Nürtingen and no longer for the MTV Stuttgart. In Dresden, Jauch competed on the balance beam and on the uneven bars and qualified for the final at the latter.
