Maeva Squiban had the Grande Nation cheered a second time within 24 hours at the Women’s Tour de France – only 77 days after their bad training accident.

The 23-year-old repeated her solo victory from the previous day on the seventh stage over 159.7 kilometers from Bourg-en-Bresse to Chambéry when she had triumphed in Ambert with over a minute lead.

Her tour participation was on the brink for a long time. On May 16, Squiban was hit by a car during a training trip in the Var department.

“I had no break, but we didn’t know exactly what. I got a blow on my head, elbow, collarbone and wrist. The recovery took a long time, but now I feel much better,” said Squiban, who emphasized on social media: “My helmet saved my life.”

Kim Le Court Pienaar further in the yellow jersey

Squiban, who plays no role in the overall ranking, had left a top group at the Col du Granier and could not be taken away in the departure. She won 51 seconds in front of her compatriot Cedrine Kerbaol. Kim Le Court Pienaar from Mauritius successfully defended the yellow jersey of the whole. The 29-year-old had meanwhile lost the connection to the favorite group on the last climb, but was able to catch up again.

Before the difficult mountain stage on Saturday over 111.9 kilometers up to CORT PIENAAR, LITE COURT PIENAAR LIST 26 seconds before the French woman Pauline Ferrand Prevot and half a minute before defending champion Katarzyna Niewiadoma from Poland. The tour ends on Sunday in Chatel.
