The outdoor equipment of the mountain period based in Otterfing, Upper Bavaria, will be back on a leadership duo in the future. As the company announced on Thursday, Teresa Schuster was appointed second managing director. From August it will take over the management together with the previous CEO Martin Stolzenberger. However, the management model is not a novelty for mountain period, because between 2018 and 2023 the company was led to dual leaders.

For Schuster, the new role means promotion within the company. Worked at mountain time since 2022, in November 2024 she took over the position of the deputy managing director as a COO. In her function as Chief Operating Officer, she will in future be responsible for logistics, people & sustainability as well as finance, customer care and payment & projects. Martin Stolzenberger remains responsible for Commercial, Buying, IT, Brand, Cooperations Marketing and Re-FROM as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

“We have been experiencing Teresa Schuster as a leading, visionary and responsible colleague in the deputy management role for just under a year,” said the CEO. “The formal expansion creates clarity in the distribution of responsibility and strengthens transparency towards our employees, partners: inside and stakeholders: inside.”

New structure in logistics

In parallel to the appointment of the new managing director, Bergzeit is setting up an independent logistics department. Thomas Lechl, who acts as Chief Logistics Officer (CLO), will take over the management. Lechl previously worked as Head of Logistics at the company.

“With corporate growth, the complexity in logistics and our requirements for supply chain and goods flow control also grows,” says Schuster. “The creation of an independent department is therefore a future -oriented step in order to meet the growing importance of logistics for our company success.”

The reason for the decision is also that mountain time with the central warehouse in Otterfing in the area of logistics is already very well positioned – especially due to the progressive automation. At the same time, the company faces the continuous challenge of further optimizing the processes in order to meet the steadily growing order volume. It is pleased to know with Thomas Lechl, who has been working at Bergzeit since 2018, an experienced manager with extensive expertise in scaling logistics locations at the top of the new area.
