Angelo Stiller has to accept a setback before the start of the new season with VfB Stuttgart. The ankle injury of the midfielder turned out to be a partial tear of the outdoor band, as the Swabian Bundesliga club announced after an MRI examination. Stiller had injured himself in the training camp in Rottach-Egern on Wednesday and is now probably missing the rest of the preparation for the upcoming Bundesliga season.
According to the Stuttgart team, the service provider will remain in the training camp with the team, even if he cannot take part in the team’s exercise units “in the coming days”.
Supercup participation uncertain: VfB test games without a silent
VfB did not say whether the 24-year-old could be ready for the Supercup game on August 16 against FC Bayern. The rehabilitation measures and the subsequent advanced training are “symptom and symptom-oriented,” it said. For the test games against Toulouse on August 2 and Bologna on August 9th, Stiller will probably not be available.
At the end of the past Bundesliga season, Stiller had also suffered an ankle injury. This time, however, the left foot and therefore not affected as before the DFB Cup victory, the VfB said. Before the final victory in Berlin against outsider Arminia Bielefeld, the key player of the team of coach Sebastian Hoeneß had been ready for use in good time. However, Stiller had canceled for the upcoming Nation’s League games of the national team.
