Laura Dahlmeier’s fatal misfortune causes great grief. Her long -time companions Magdalena Neuner and Miriam Neureuther remember the exceptional athlete with moving words.

Biathlon icon Magdalena Neuner recognized the two-time Olympic champion Laura Dahlmeier, who was deadly crashed in Pakistan in Pakistan. “She was a great role model in the fact that she lived her life and could not be influenced by other people at all,” said twelve-time world champion Neuner of the German Press Agency. “There she was a pioneer for me. That she always followed her passion – few did it, like Laura.”

The news of the death of the 31 -year -old Dahlmeier is “simply incredible” for Neuner. Like Dahlmeier, Neuner comes from Bavaria, both had the same coach in Bernhard Kröll and both resigned from the active career at the age of 25. “Laura and I have a long story together, we have already trained together as children,” said the 38 -year -old Neuner. “We know each other extremely long, but we haven’t seen each other as often in the past. But when we saw each other, we have always been very happy.”

The fact that there was no longer a further meeting of the two Olympic champions in the recent past, Neuner now regretted enormously: “You shouldn’t put such things on the long bench, especially with people you like with whom you want to meet.”

With Miriam Neureuther, another ex-world champion expressed her grief. “From the bird baby in kindergarten via our ski club-Garmisch times and then all the years together in our sport biathlon-I will wear these memories forever in my heart!”, The 35-year-old wrote on the Instagram platform. Neureuther and Dahlmeier both come from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and made it together from the offspring to the Biathlon World Cup and world championships.

“It cannot be put into words how much the news of your death shocked me!” Wrote Neureuther. The wife of alpine star Felix Neureuther used to compete under her birth name Gössner. “You were an extraordinary athlete who will certainly not be in this world for a second time! But above all as a person, Laura, we will all be missing,” wrote the former biathlete and long run.
