In Val Martello the effects of moderate altitude on the human body are studied thanks to a unique experiment conducted by Eurac Research of Bolzano

NEl world more than 200 million people live over 2,000 meters above sea level, not to mention tourists. Most of the studies conducted on the effects for humans have been carried out at high altitudes (over 3,000 m), while the consequences for moderate altitudes are less known.

Eurac Research in Bolzano, with his Emergency Medicine Institute in the mountains, has selected 12 volunteers for a series of tests lasting four weeks at the Nino Corsi refuge in Alta Val Martello at 2,300 meters above sea level. Hannes Gatterer – Eurac Research – Bolzano
