Else Praasterink qualified himself during the World Cup in Singapore on Wednesday for the semi-final on the 10-meter tower. The 22-year-old Eindhoven received a total of 279.05 points from the jury for her five jumps in the preliminary round. With that she finished fifteenth of the 37 participants.

The semi -final takes place on Thursday. Then the medals are also jumped.

Praasterink conquered in May during the European Championship in the Turkish Antalya bronze on the 10-meter tower. Last year she became eleventh at the World Cup and twelfth during the Paris Olympic Games.

Heights
You would not expect it from a cleaning party, but in the past Praasterink was afraid of heights and she got nodding knees on the 3-meter board. The first time she climbed the stairs to the platform high above the swimming pool, was some ten years ago.

She still has some stress when she walks up. “It remains really exciting. Then I think again: why do I actually take three and a half somersaults off? That is sometimes super frustrating, but it also makes it fun. It also gives adrenaline every time.”

Enjoying her jumps, she now also does years of jumping. “It will also be really fun if you are standing on the tower with more faith. I really like to float.”
