The drop was the additional tax of 2024. Many residents were unexpectedly presented a high additional payment, sometimes up to thousands of euros. “This is not possible,” says Kimmerly indignantly. “People are awake about this. They simply can’t afford it.”
This year she has to add no less than 1,600 euros, largely due to increased energy costs. The housing corporation blames this on price increases in 2023, but some residents question large questions.
Big differences, little trust
The 77-year-old Wally Kloos is one of the residents who listed his administration. “In 2022 and 2023 I received money back. Now I suddenly have to pay more than a thousand euros, while our consumption has not changed. How is that possible?”
Another resident adds: “I am not standing for myself here. I hardly had to pay anything. But the differences between residents are bizarre. Due to the collective block heating, they have a poor view of their consumption.
