Domestic tourism is doing well. Up to 69 % of Finns intend to stay in Finland this summer, according to a survey commissioned by the Finnish Association of Tourism Organizations.
Almost half, 42 % of the respondents, select visiting items based on their food and restaurant offerings, the Suoma Association announcement states.
– Food is no longer a part of the journey – it has become more and more for the trip itself, the chairman of the board of Suoma ry Susanne Rasmus says in the bulletin.
At its best, food tourism is a holistic experience that fell all the senses. On the way, high -quality food can be associated with nature, beautiful scenery or activities, for example.
