Huge snake for plush toys with large googly eyes and pointed teeth: Hours before the opening, fans in Berlin have been pending in Germany in front of the first laboratory store in Germany. Hundreds of people waited with umbrellas and camping chairs outside in front of the Alexa shopping center-some of them came from Bavaria or Saxony-Anhalt.
Many fans occurred in the early morning or in the middle of the night despite the rain. Some also brought their own laboratory. The Chinese manufacturer and dealer Pop Mart opens its first business in this country in Alexa at Berliner Alexanderplatz. The shopping center had adjusted to an enormous rush weeks before.
Worldwide hype
A global hype has been created around the label. The fur monsters are cute and ugly at the same time. The trend is fired by a number of influencers on Tikkok and Instagram, which film themselves when the surprise boxes are unpacked.
In China, the laboratory has long been announced. In the shops there are always collectors there: inside, who carefully shake the surprise boxes to guess at the figure in it. The toy seller Pop Mart, founded in 2010, is planning a total of three locations in Berlin.
