The fatal stab incident took place at the beginning of this year along the Commerswerveweg in Oostburg, just across the border in Zeeland. There were three people in the car: a 67-year-old man from Aalst, his partner, and her son-a 44-year-old man from Knokke-Heist.
During the ride there was a fight between the stepfather and his stepson. He then escalated his stepfather with a knife in the neck. Despite his injuries, the victim was able to put the car aside. The man died shortly thereafter from his injuries. His partner, who was sitting in the back seat, witnessed the entire incident.
