Solo European champion Klara Bleyer and her duet partner Amélie Blumenthal Haz missed the podium at the World Championships in Singapore. The young synchronous duo came to eighth on Thursday in the free freestyle with 245.1512 points.

In the technical freestyle, Bleyer (21) and Blumenthal Haz (17), who have only been swimming together since last autumn, just missed the final round. In the free freestyle, they moved into the final in ninth among a total of 36 couples with a best performance of 242.4307 points and increased them there again.

It was only the second time since 2007, since the two disciplines at World Championships were seen separately that a DSV duet was in the Finale Frei’s final. Only Marlene Bojer and Michelle Zimmer had succeeded, who were twelfth at the World Cup in Budapest in 2022.

Gold went to the Spaniards Lilou Lluís Valette and Iris Tió Casas (282,6087) in Singapore. The Italians Enrica Piccoli and Lucrezia Ruggiero (278,7137) and the Russian Doroschko and Tatiana Gajdaj (277.1117) started under a neutral flag won silver.

In the morning (local time) Bleyer and Blumenthal Haz failed in the team competition in the pre -fight. Common to Maria Denisov, Solene Viviane Patricia Guisard, Daria Martens, Frithjof Seidel, Daria Tonn and Thea Marta Zehentner, they came in the Acrobatic routine with 142.7017 points in 21st.

In the run-up to the competitions, the hopes for the first German World Cup medal in the sport with a view to World Cup overall winner Bleyer had been great. In both solo competitions, the Bochumer narrowly missed the podium in fifth place.
