In a dramatic way, the DFB women left the European Championship on Wednesday. Millions of Germans pursued the game.
The German women’s national team left in the semi-finals of the European Championship-the game was still a complete success for the ARD. The 0: 1 after extra time against Spain reached the highest ratio of the current tournament.
On average, 14.26 million viewers watched the game on Wednesday evening. The market share was 57.6 percent. The transfer thus exceeded all previous games of the EM 2025-also the gripping quarter-final thriller against France. These had followed 10.7 million fans on ZDF on Saturday, the market share was 52.2 percent.
The end of Spain is the number two on TV in the history of women’s football with a view to TV quotas. The most successful transmission so far is the final defeat of the DFB selection against England at the EM 2022 with 17.952 million people.
The tournament is over for the DFB team, but Spain is in the final. There the team will meet England on Sunday. The game begins at 6 p.m. in the St. Jakob Park in Basel.
