Leif Lindeman enjoys his life right now.
Some tangofans live in the faith that Leif Lindeman is the holder of the tango king, but this is not the case. Lindeman has never won the Golden Crown of the Tango Market Song Contest, but the title of Tango Prince has remained the biggest achievement of Lindeman in the Tango Market. Still, there has been enough work for decades.
Lindeman, 46, is happy at this point.
– When age comes, serenity rises to an immeasurable value. Appreciates when things are okay, knows what you are doing and wants, and your work situation is such that you don’t have to worry about it either. Actually, everything is fine in that respect, Lindeman says in an interview with Iltalehti.

Lindeman is well infiltrated in tango circles, there is enough gig and colleagues have also become friends. Special friendship was born, especially with Kyösti Mäkimattila, the 2013 Tango King in the early qualifying round in Turku.
– Immediately after seeing him, I resorted to Kyösti. I was a bit new in the tango circles when I had done a Gospel job for over 15 years, so everything was new to me, Lindeman recalls.
– I immediately felt that there is a man who stands on the ground and knows almost everything in the industry. Kyösti later told me that he had resorted to me. The same warmth and energy I sucked about him was transmitted to me, he continues.

The people placed Lindeman and Mäkimattila against each other and settled on either side. This did not affect the men at all.
– The audience finally noticed that we were like brothers, so the confrontation has disappeared completely. People have realized that we are very the same type and present the same type of music. Our audience is also largely the same.
Today, the duo also performs together.
– Joint concerts are a nice variation when not all things are just on their own shoulders. You don’t have to have a whimper behind the curtain alone to see if there is a group of people watching or not, Lindeman laughs.
Lindeman is grateful how well he was received in tango circles.
– Especially in 2014, I had terrible pressures when I had done so well in the first year. In a way, I gave up the whole race, because if that crown did not come, it would be most important that the people would be on my side.
– My good tango king friend Sebastian Ahlgren told me well years ago, “Lefa is the kind of thing that the flag hatch matters.” You can do nothing but do your best in your own work and take care of your own screen. There’s nothing you can do about it if people don’t like it.

Children grow up
Lindeman would hope that in the future his creativity would be more and better emerging. Lindeman won the Autumn Tune competition in 2022 with his own composition. The heart is still gold -kThe anchor was born during the corona when Lindeman had time and inspiration and was not so tired.
– Nowadays, it wouldn’t work that I go to the piano after a gig tour and start composing songs. I go out and cut the lawn. It is not just the same way to get inspired in the same way, when everyday is so music -filled. And not really a family, if I was still at home.

A few years later, the singer, who celebrates the round, does not really think about his or her age unless he or she will look at the children. Lindeman and his Marika-his wife Cure-In boy turns 25 this year and Mirella-The daughter 18.
– Time goes a lot. The girl is studying as a nurse practitioner, the boy was first graduated as a college student, but now she has also graduated as a mental health and substance abuse nurse, Lindeman says.
– When I looked at our son, who is an adult man and has his own family, I think not good time. We are the same age! Somehow I still feel like a wild little boy myself, and I do not accept that the kids go past, Lindeman laughs.
Lindeman, who lives in Äänekoski, has been one with Marika for 30 years. They have been married for 27 years. Marika is sometimes involved in Lindeman’s gigs, but her own work in the restaurant industry also keep her busy.
For the future, Lindeman hopes for health and peace, that is, the same as it is now.
– If a person is doing well internally, after all, it is reflected outward because it is difficult to hide well. If the everyday was a forceful smile, it would not go far, he sums up.
– Well, of course, I hope the kids are fine. They would have a good life and the family could do well. That’s not if a person is allowed to be healthy and do the work they love. What else does you need in life? Lindeman decides.
