ROoma, 23 Jul. (askanews) – Scotland is preparing to receive Donald Trump. The US President, who already owns two golf resorts here, will arrive from 25 to 29 July for a private visit, in which he will also inaugurate his third golf course.
And if even before his arrival, the presidential visit made to discuss for the announcement of the White House of the exclusion of
Journalists of the Wall Street Journal from the team that will follow Trump in Scotland, after an article in the newspaper on the relationship between the president and Jeffrey Epstein, now the residents are divided on the new Trumpian property on the island.
For some, the fields on the northeastern coast of the Eberdeenshire represent the link of the Tycoon with the house of the deceased mother who lived in the village of Fishermen of Tong, on the island of Lewis, in the north of Scotland up to 18 years, and will be an economic investment engine for the area. “There was nothing positive, no increase in jobs, nothing, high quality structures have been built and I think fear is that any further development in this sector is only for the worse”.
“It’s just a playground for the rich, and it certainly does not represent what I think is Scotland,” says a resident. And another: “I am a golfist and I went to see how much it would cost to play at the Trump field, and it was about to be 1200 pounds for a Four Ball”.
