Sara Doorsoun played for Eintracht Frankfurt for three and a half years. This time now ends. The former international changes abroad.
After a decades and a half in the Bundesliga, a new chapter begins for Sara Doorsoun – on another continent. The 33-year-old defender leaves Eintracht Frankfurt and joins Angel City FC in the US National Women’s Soccer League.
With the step into the USA, Doorsoun says goodbye to the Bundesliga after a total of 280 missions. “Making this decision and leaving this heart club was extremely difficult for me,” said Doorsoun about her farewell to Eintracht Frankfurt. A few weeks ago, the move to Los Angeles offered her the chance to “pursue a dream that I talk about since I was 14 years old.”
At Eintracht, Doorsun’s contract had been valid until 2026. She had already ended her career in the national team before the European Women’s European Championship. Three days before national coach Christian Wück announced his squad, she explained her resignation from the DFB team. Last year Doorsoun had won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games with Germany.
