The folding trailer is back, but the Asser Folding car builder Campooz no longer benefits from that. The company was declared bankrupt this morning. But according to curator Peter Holsappel van Bierens van Boven Advocaten, there is still a future in the company. “From different sides there is interest in a restart.”
The bankruptcy trustee investigates the exact reason for the bankruptcy of the folding wager builder, who employs eighteen employees. “I don’t have the idea that the company was doing very badly. But there is only a small kink to get into the cable and a company goes bankrupt. It is quite viable.”
Holsappel is now also the contact person for customers, because the company itself can no longer be reached. First, an interested person is looking for a restart. “At the moment, Campooz is frozen for a moment, we are going to see how we are going to move on.”
Two years ago, Campooz seemed to have the wind in the sails. The then director said in the summer of 2023 that the image of the folding trailer has been polished in recent years. “In the past when you were on a birthday and people asked: how did you camp? And you answered: with a folding trailer. You were just not laughed at. But many fresh, new brands have been added in recent years.”
In particular, addressing a new target group caused a boost in the business. “Folding trailers are popular with young families. They discover camping with a folding trailer.”
