Four meters too small: Problems with DFB Cup Stadium

In the DFB Cup, amateur associations have the honor of receiving larger clubs in their stadium. But that can also be problematic.
Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg welcomes the big problem for SV Hemelingen: The club from the Bremen League (5th league) receives the Bundesliga team. The club actually wanted to have the game in the stadium in Verden, because its own stadium in the Bremen district does not meet the requirements. But it is not clear whether the game can take place there. Because when the DFB was inspected, it was noticed that the space is only 96 meters long instead of 100 meters. It falls from the DFB tolerance area for the length of a place.
The club confirmed the problem compared to the Bremen TV show “Buten and Innen”. The SV Hemelingen assured the DFB to extend the space through turf by four meters. In addition to the space that is too small, the DFB also noticed other problems, such as a small distance to a high jumping facility behind the gate. According to the club, the problems could be solved.
The cup game will be held on August 16 (Saturday) at 3:30 p.m. If the stadium problems cannot be solved, the fifth division team would have to avoid the game again. However, the club should want to prevent this, after all, a smaller amateur square is a clear advantage for subclass teams. According to the “Weser Kurier”, VfL Wolfsburg has proposed to play the game in the AOK arena in the Autostadt. Then Hemelingen’s home advantage would be finally gone.
