According to Arto Bryggare, Iltalehti’s athletics expert, Saga Vanninen made a routine performance.
Saga Vanninen broke Satu Ruotsalainen’s 34 -year -old Finnish record (6 404) when the total points were recorded in 6,563. Pasi Liesimaa
Saga Vanninen On Sunday, the European Champion of Under-23 was crowned in Seven, Bergen, Norway.
Vanninen sealed the gold medal and SE result with a convincing species. He ran at 800 meters by 2.11.00, which brought 950 points and brought him clearly to number one.
Iltalehti’s athletics expert Arto Bryggare He saw many strong elements in Vanninen’s performance, but reminds us that there is still plenty to improve.
– It was a dual but overall routine. Nothing crazy but nothing weak, Bryggare summed up.
Spear and ball of the biggest conscience
Vanninen himself considered spear throwing as the greatest disappointment. He threw 43.74 meters, 1.2 meters better than in his previous record series. Vanninen was not happy with the result.
Bryggare also saw the spear and ball work as clear areas for development.
– Saga clearly went to the ball and especially the spear under the bench. 200 meters was run upwind, but I also thought it was surprisingly weak.
Vanninen wore a ball of 15.09 and ran 200 meters at 24.45.
– Saga said nicely that the spear should be healed and that is true.
However, Bryggare trusts Vanninen’s coach Erki to Nool.
– Erki himself was a good spear thrower, he knows exactly the secrets of that species.
– Spear throwing is such a difficult species that when the speed begins to stick to the feet, the use of the feet becomes more challenging.
Cheerful surprise
The closing type of 800 meters was also a new personal record for Vanninen, and it was especially in Bryggare’s mind.
– 800 meters was a great performance. It wasn’t the same old 2.20 and tightened to the tooth, but it came happily 2.10. It tells about training.
– A tough competitor must be able to run 2.10.
Great chance
One species is clearly highlighted in Bryggare’s speeches – high jump. Vanninen exceeded the height of the first 180 companies, but was not satisfied with his performance.
-Women’s match is such a fierce sport that if you do not make a tough result from a high jump, you will not fight hard in the World Cup and the Olympics.
– You just have to succeed. If there are less than 190 heights and there are competitors who jump in 190 or 195, it is terribly difficult to get up to the medals in the World Cup.
– Saga didn’t go bad, but there was no such stretch. There is a lot of blanking for the better. It wasn’t quite right yet.
It broke down
The Swedish Finnish record of 1991 had been in force for 34 years. Now it stayed in history. However, Bryggare pushes excessive time comparisons.
-The Finnish record is -91, so it is a bit like Juha mildon Skis would be compared to today’s skis.
– The spikes have evolved so that athletes just can’t be compared. Current equipment gives an advantage. Looking in history is difficult because these tools have brought the world level to a different level.
– When you look at 800 meters, 400 meters, 1,500 meters in men and women, they are absolutely insane compared to the results made 20-30 years ago.
The gaze toward the World Cup
Vanninen is one of the top names in Finland in the upcoming World Cup. The developmental curve looks in the right direction, but the requirement levels will increase even further.
– If successful, he must improve at a minimum of two hundred points. Then if over 6700 points give a medal in the World Cup, it’s great. If not, there is nothing for it, Bryggare says.
– Saga really has legs on the ground. He knows exactly where we are going and the coach knows exactly what to do. However, it is almost two months for the World Championships to be able to practice here.
– The Finnish record will definitely come from there. There were so many weak species for Saga. How much, it remains to be seen, Bryggare turned.
