For months, boxing fans were feverish on Daniel Dubois against Alexander Usyk. But after five laps it was over.
Alexander Usyk has once again demonstrated his exceptional position in heavyweight boxes. In the Wembley Stadium filled with more than 90,000 spectators, the Ukrainian celebrated a clear co-victory against Daniel Dubois-and is therefore again the undisputed world champion.
The 38-year-old prevailed in London in the fifth round against his British opponent. Usyk took the IBF title off and after 2024 united all four important World Cup belts from the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF associations for the second time.
Right from the start, the experienced champion showed his class. Against the eleven years younger Dubois, Usyk was more flexible, determined the pace and landed several precise hits. In the fifth round he brought dubois to the ground for the first time.
Although the Briton got up again – a few seconds later the fight was over. Usyk cheered with the arms raised.
Even before the duel with Dubois, the Ukrainian had remained unbeaten in 23 professional fights. He had won the first encounter with Dubois in 2023 through technical knockout. The unification duel with Tyson Fury also won Usyk beforehand – back then.
