1/2 Men who need to urinate can go to no fewer than 35 urinals at the Tilburg fair. Women can do their needs at two toilet buildings in the center and pay a euro for that.
Men can pee for free, while women have to pay a euro per urethra at the Tilburg fair. That is the ‘Tilburg Dolle Mina’s’ Elysa and Paulina unfair. That is why they tie pink ribbons for the urinals at the fair on Saturday. “It’s pee discrimination,” they think.
Elysa and Paulina are busy on Saturday with pink ribbons. Every urinal in the city goes a big bow. According to the ladies, the need is high and so attention is drawn to the problem.
“Men can go to 35 places in the center. For women there are two toilet buildings, each with six toilets on the other side of the city,” says Elysa. On behalf of the organization ‘Dolle Mina’s van Tilburg’, the ladies draw attention to gender inequality, discrimination and oppression.
“Pay, walk far and stand in line.”
“Women have to pay 1 euro, while it is free for men. The municipality gives the reason that the toilet buildings must be kept clean, but we think it is unfair,” says Paulina. “In addition, women have to walk a long way and then stand in line for a long time.”
In addition to the pink ribbons for urinals, the Dolle Mina’s also hang posters to draw attention to ‘lake discrimination’. “It is very frustrating that it has to be, but it feels nice to do this,” says Elysa.

It is not the intention of the activists that men can no longer pee in the urinals through the pink ribbons, but it will be a bit harder for them. According to the ladies, that is necessary to create consciousness. “It is important that everyone can pee for free and in enough places,” they decide.
Passers -by respond positively to the promotion. “It’s good if it gets free for everyone,” says a girl who walks over the fair with a friend.
“I see piss bins everywhere for the men. I think it’s strange that women have to walk far and pay. If I need to be very necessary, I just go into a catering establishment,” says a woman.
The men also find it unfair that they do not have to pay and women do. “It’s good that this is being denounced,” says a man. The men from now on also have to pay for him does not seem to be the solution. “Then we find a place where it can be done for free,” he laughs.
