In search of an urgently needed full -back, the 1st FC Köln in Denmark found it. The Bundesliga promoter confirmed the commitment of Sebastian Sebulonsen (25) from the Bröndby IF on Friday. For the fourth time this summer, Effzeh will take money for the Norwegian right -back. He is the sixth Norwegian in club history.
The Danish sports magazine “Tipbladed“According to Cologne and Bröndby, it was agreed on a transfer fee of around 3 million euros. It should be the overall package, i.e. with bonuses. A first offer of over 2 million euros was rejected by the Superliga Club, which is said to have requested 3 million euros plus additional payments. 1.2 million euros came and rinses more than twice the end of the contract a year before the end of the contract.
“We are very pleased that we have now filled the position of the right full -back with Sebastian. He brings a strong athletic profile, meets our requirements for a physically robust, position variable player and extends our possibilities in the squad. His qualities and development potential make him a valuable reinforcement for our team,” said sports director Thomas Kessler.
A club from Italy was recently mentioned as a serious competitor for FC with the US Sassuolo. But its rumored offer of EUR 2.5 million was too low. Instead, the cathedral city was awarded the contract that had a German negotiating partner with sports director Benjamin Schmedes at Bröndby.
Sebulonen da: 1. FC Köln is looking for further full -back
Sebulonsen was only able to assert himself completely in his third year at Bröndby, in 38 missions he contributed a goal and seven templates. Its market value jumped from 750,000 to EUR 2.5 million last season. In this way, he sorts himself out in the middle of the Cologne, who have so far only had two regular full -back in the squad: Learst Paçarada for the left and Jusuf Gazibegovic for the right side. According to Sebulonsen, reinforcements should also come in the left -back position so that the competition is held up.
The successor to Sebulonsen near Bröndby is a professional from a German second division team: Oliver Villadsen from 1. FC Nürnberg. The 23-year-old Dane had only come to the club last summer, now it goes back to his home country.
