With a drone you might think of the crazy small device with which the neighbor boy plays outside, or the slightly larger device with which the most beautiful air images can be made. Yet the medical drones look something different.
To begin with, they are a lot larger than the standard home-garden-and-kitchen-drone. With a wingspan of 2.70 meters and a bright yellow ANWB color, they definitely stand out. They are built in a way that it is safe to fly them and they cannot just fall out of the sky.
Fun fact: the medical drones rise as a helicopter with the help of four smaller propellers on all sides, but once they are at height, they fly like an aircraft, with the help of the wings a propeller at the front of the device.
The medical items they transport are not in a package underneath, as you might think. There is a compartment in the drone itself in which it can be stored safely. For example, some things have to remain cooled, that is also being taken care of.
