At one station in the Netherlands there is a rental location with employees, a carousel or a bicycle safe at another station. The rental of public transport bikes is arranged in a different way at every train station. Recently there is a pavilion at Zoetermeer Oost station where a number of public transport bikes are enjoying each other and waiting for a new tenant.

For a long time there has been a bicycle safe with a few public transport bikes next to the Zoetermeer Oost train station. Dutch Railways has stopped offering safes and carousels and is building new variants on more and more stations in the Netherlands.

At the larger stations, such as Zoetermeer Oost, a total of 72 unmanned pavilions. These are glass houses so that you can see exactly whether an public transport bicycle is available. In addition to Zoetermeer-Oost station, you can rent an OV bicycle in even more places in Zoetermeer. This is possible at Tram and Bus station center and at Zoetermeer train station. After the rental period you return your bike where you picked it up. If you still hand in the public transport bicycle at a different point, you pay a surcharge of 10 euros.
