Streaming instead of CD sales: The music business has also changed rapidly in the world of hit in recent years. While the genre is still firmly anchored at festivals and in radio playlists, many artists also celebrate great success on Spotify. But which pop stars actually benefit the most from Spotify?
A new analysis of Casino.ch evaluated the Spotify numbers of 40 of the best-known hit acts-including hit stars such as Helene Fischer, DJ Ötzi or Matthias Reim. The study calculates how much the stars could earn every month through streams. The basis is an estimated streaming value of $ 0.004 per stream. Spotify is lucrative for big hit stars
The analysis shows: Schlager is not only a long-running favorite in beer tents and TV shows, but also on streaming platforms. Even years after their publication, songs such as “Greek wine” by Udo Jürgens or “Hulapalu” by Andreas Gabalier achieve impressive streaming numbers with sometimes six -digit income.
And there is still a lot of room for improvement, because what was previously sold on CD is running on Repeat in playlists, parties or living rooms. For the artists: The inside means constant income with increasing reach.
