The national unit of the police did an investigation this morning in the Ommerkanaal in Drogter stores. A sonar was used to determine that there was an object under water.
In consultation, two divers from the National Unit were deployed to continue the investigation. They found a car on the bottom of the canal. The divers investigated the car to check whether there were victims in the vehicle. That turned out not to be the case.
After the investigation has been completed, the area was released and transferred to the water board. They will determine what should be done with the car found.
