George Lucas will visit the San Diego Comic-Con for the first time this year, To give an outlook on his new museum, which is to be opened in Los Angeles in 2026.

A museum for visual storytelling

As “Variety” Y reports, the “Star Wars” creator will give visitors a first insight into the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. He will appear on the panel together with director Guillermo del Toro, the visual designer Doug Chiang and moderator Queen Latifah.

Lucas and his wife, the entrepreneur Mellody Hobson, are co -founders of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, which is devoted to visual telling in all its forms. From painting and comics to photography to film. According to the description, Lucas, Del Toro, Chiang and Queen Latifah will discuss “the power of illustrated stories and the role of narrative art in society” during the comic-Conca. “From ancient cave paintings and hieroglyphs to paintings, murals, illustrations, comics, digital media to sculptures, this panel will immerse yourself in the universal language of the narrative image.”

Return to the roots of pop culture

Although this is Lucas’ first visit to the comic-Con, “Star Wars” combines a long story with the fan event. As David Glanzer, head of communication and strategy of the comic-Con, explained in a statement, “Star Wars” had a stand on the comic-Con almost five decades ago. On which the “Star Wars” poster designed by artist Howard Catkin was shown.

“Now that Mr. Lucas returns – this time to present the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art – this is a real group that closes,” continued Glanzer. “His lifelong commitment to visual storytelling and World Building appeals to us and our community deeply. And the mission of the museum to celebrate narrative art in all its forms reflects exactly what the comic over stood from the start.”

The San Diego Comic-Con will take place from July 24th to 27th. More panels revolve around excitedly expected TV series and films. Among them “Alien: Earth”, “Tron: Ares”, “Outlander”, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”, “King of the Hill” and “Predator: Badlands”.
