Sources: Consultation about file Gaza is rough
The consultation about a file in the Gaza Strip comes across obstacles, Israeli and Palestinian sources told Reuters news agency. Among other things, there would be disagreement about how far the Israeli armed forces should withdraw.
It is also said that there is a discussion about issues regarding humanitarian assistance and guarantees about the end of the war.
Negotiations on a cease-fire of sixty days started last Sunday in Qatar. The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed the hope last week that “within a few days” agreement could be reached.
A Palestinian source told AFP news agency that mediators have since proposed to suspend the conversations until the American envoy Steve Witkoff arrives in Doha.
