The next World Cup takes place in one year. Marc-André Ter Stegen wants to be there, but needs game practice. But where does he get them?

Marc-André Ter Stegen is faced with an uncertain future at FC Barcelona. According to matching reports from the Catalanian newspapers “Sport” and “Mundo Deportivo”, Barça coach Hansi Flick is now said to have personally informed the German national goalkeeper that he is no more planned as number one. On the contrary: Ter Stegen is only the third option behind new signing Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny.

According to the reports, the national goalkeeper, who has been playing for the club since 2014, can stay in the team and fight for his place. The 33-year-old should also plan this-although the association allegedly thinks about releasing it from the contract running until 2028 with a severance payment. Manchester City, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Galatasaray are mentioned as possible new clubs.

In June, Ter Stegen was clearly known to Barça in the circle of the national team: “I know that I am in Barcelona next year. I am looking forward to the coming season because we have a great team that is young, dynamic and hungry. There has been no situation that you have to talk about.” At that time, neither García was officially obliged by Espanyol, nor extended the contract with Szczęsny.

Also away from the square, there is a lot to say that Ter Stegen wants to avoid a change. His two children live in Barcelona, and his new partner ona Sellarès from Catalonia also comes.
