Ex-Bundesliga coach loses starting place in the Europa League

Crystal Palace and Oliver Glasner were actually looking forward to one season in the Europa League. But now everything is different.
Oliver Glasner’s hopes for a European League season with Crystal Palace have broken up. Instead, Olympique Lyon will be represented in the upcoming season in the second highest European competition. The UEFA officially announced this.
The reason is in the possession of both clubs. Until recently, the American John Textor held larger shares in both Palace and Lyon. In the opinion of the UEFA, both clubs violate the surcharge ban. This prohibits that two clubs that are controlled by the same institution compete in the same European competition.
At first Crystal Palace had received the Europa League starting area-favored by Lyon’s forced relegation at the end of June due to financial problems. However, the traditional French club successfully made an appeal against this decision, remains first -class and now also receives European starting law.
Crystal Palace, trained by the former Bundesliga coach Glasner, will have to compete in the Conference League in the coming season. Against the decision of the UEFA can be made at the International Sports Court (CAS) appointment.
