Many schools in the Northern Netherlands already have the last school day today. The same goes for the students of IKC. Go De Ridder in Beilen. At their school it is completely special, because they do not return to their school building after the holidays. It goes against the plain.

“I hope that I will not get lost after the holidays”, one of the students of group three is joining the convoy towards the new school building. In their bags there are school items such as the Effen and Rules. They look forward to their temporary accommodation, but also find it exciting.

“We are watching our new school today. I like that,” says six -year -old Ties. He sees the move. “Because I don’t like this school anymore and it is very old.”

The school from 1969 is being demolished and rebuilt. Until that time, the students of the substructure stay in the old CSG building on the Omloop. That building is adapted to the younger children with large rooms and a new floor.

The farewell is also special for teachers today. Miss Titia Stobbe was 32 years in front of the class in the building, of which 25 years in the same room. “It is sometimes a bit emotional because you have been working in the building for a long time. It was always a very nice building.”
