Coming along: should we first take care of animals from Dutch asylums instead of from abroad?

Now that the summer vacation has started again, we travel en masse to sunny places. And anyone who has ever been on holiday in southern Europe or Eastern Europe knows the image of stray dogs or cats on the street. More and more often, Dutch people are so impressed that they decide to take an animal home. Well intended of course, but should we not first look back at the animals that are already waiting here in the asylum?
