Werder Bremen equipped midfielder Patrice Covic with the first professional contract a few days after his 18th birthday. Born in Berlin and son of the former Hertha coach Ante Covic, the youth of the old lady came to the green-whites last summer and used for the U19. He is also part of the professional training squad, for which he was sitting on the bench six times in the Bundesliga. Covic did not yet come to his debut.

“Patrice has always left a positive impression in the training sessions among the professionals. With his joy of playing and willingness to learn, we see him the potential to recommend itself for higher tasks. We are pleased to continue his development together with Patrice,” said license manager Peter Niemeyer.

Covic, who reached the semi-finals of the A-Junior Championship with the Bremen offspring and scored the lead goal in the Junior’s DFB Cup, put the lead goal: “The move to SV Werder last summer was exactly the right step for me. It takes me very proud to hold my first professional contract in my hands now. I would like to thank the responsible for your trust and will give everything back on the place.”
