Switzerland has won the important second EM group game. This caused a lot of relief in the host country-also with a TV expert.
After the opening of the opening against Norway (1: 2), the Swiss footballers were already under pressure at home in the second game. For a long time it didn’t look like Switzerland can win the duel with Iceland (2-0). But late in the game, Geraldine Reuteler (76th) scored the redeeming 1-0 for the “Nati”, Alayah Pilgrim (90th) increased shortly before the final whistle.
At 1-0, the Bern Stadium almost exploded, the fans in the ranks celebrated the important goal loudly. The players were also relieved. SRF-Co commentator Rachel Rinast also cheered on live TV. In the joy of joy, however, she made a verbal derailment.
What happened? The former national player of Switzerland cheered in the microphone – and first said: “Oh God.” Then she slipped out of a curse: “Fuck, I got up too quickly,” said Rinast. To explain the situation, commentator Calvin Stettler jokingly added: “Rinast has a cramp, but that doesn’t matter.”
The broadcasting broadcaster SRF (Swiss radio and television) later commented on the Swiss newspaper “Blick” to the unfortunate choice of words in Rinast. Although “inappropriate statements” could also fall in the “heat of the battle”, it is clear: “In any case, offensive expressions like ‘Fuck’ do not belong in the SRF program.” So far, Rinast has not commented on the incident.
