The sales in the retail trade of the euro zone fell in May.

In the month comparison, revenues dropped by 0.7 percent, as the European Statistics Office Eurostat announced on Monday in Luxembourg. Economists had expected a decline of 0.6 percent.

However, the sales in April rose by 0.3 percent. At first, an increase of 0.1 percent was determined.

Compared to the same month last year, retail sales rose by 1.8 percent in May. An increase of 1.4 percent was expected here.
