A predator looking for a prey. For example, a 32-year-old man must have behaved in his hometown of Tilburg during King’s Night 2024. He addressed several younger women that night. One of them was the victim of rape and attempted manslaughter. The court in Breda imposed the Tilburger, Rishi P., seven years in prison on Monday.

It was also determined that P. must pay compensation of more than 11,500 euros. Furthermore, he will have to work on his behavior in his imprisonment and little freedom of movement will be granted to him there.

‘Cozy evening was nightmare’
The 22-year-old victim had celebrated Koningsnacht from 26 on April 27 of last year. The pleasant evening ended in a nightmare, the judge expresses it in his ruling.

The woman wanted to go home around Halfvier. While she was looking for her bike, she was approached by Rishi P. He thought he had a bite. Earlier that night he had tried to construct women in vain, while in the meantime he was sitting in his genitals.

With this woman he managed to take her to an alley, in Korte Tuinstraat, in the center of Tilburg. He abused that his ‘prey’ was quite under the influence of drinks and apparently offered little resistance. Then he pushed her to the ground, tightened her wrists firmly and put his penis in her vagina. He also strangled her.

The woman managed to escape at a certain moment and ran into panic and violently emotional. A witness saw how she was pressing hysterical and crying on door bubbles. The victim told that witness that she had been raped and would also explain that to the police when he took care of her.

According to P.’s lawyer, account must be taken of the fact that his client has never been in contact with the police and the judiciary before. The victim’s statement, in the eyes of the counsel, was also not reliable and missing in the file other means of evidence. The public prosecutor, who, by the way, had demanded eight years, and the court thought differently. For example, they attached value to the statements of the witness and the agents.

Attempted manslaughter
Furthermore, DNA by P. was found on the neck and parts of the belt of the victim. There were also bruises in the neck and the eyes and ears of the woman. P. had not only penetrated her: he has strongly held her neck or throat and pinched it, the court concludes. Either attempted manslaughter.

The court had a lot of trouble with P. no responsibility or guilty consciousness. He only had an eye for his own sexual needs. The result: the woman has since suffered from nightmares, does not dare to walk or cycle in the dark and nobody trusts anymore. The court also finds it terrible for other women, they too would no longer feel safe due to this case.
