Two rock legends, an unforgettable evening
It sounds almost incredible. Until the last Saturday evening at the “Back to the Beginning” concert in Birmingham, Ozzy Osbourne and Axl Rose had never met personally. But this situation changed suddenly and emotionally. With bilateral admiration and big words that fans touched worldwide.
Ozzy about Axl: “An absolute gentleman”
On Monday, July 7th, Ozzy Osbourne published a photo Instagramthat shows him when shaking hands with Axl Rose. The Prince of Darkness wrote:
“Axl rose for the first time. At my age you don’t meet many legends anymore. A really great person, absolute gentleman.”
This meeting was apparently something very special for someone like Ozzy, who has shared the stage with world stars for decades.
AXL about Ozzy: “Emotional and overwhelming”
Axl Rose commented on X (formerly Twitter) the day before about meeting Ozzy Osbourne. He wrote with visible enthusiasm:
“Wow !! What an event !! Incredibly moving !! Fantastic audience !! It was very emotional for everyone !! I met Ozzy !! (Hard to believe that we have never met before !!) he was great !! And it was wonderful to meet Sabbath !!”
Respect for ozzy’s strength
Axl was deeply moved by Ozzy’s willpower and its perseverance in the face of health challenges:
“It was difficult to watch him fight. And yet everyone was fevering, admiring him, respected – and he did it !!!”
He thanked Ozzy, Sharon Osbourne, Black Sabbath and the fans for the invitation and emotional experience. The exchange with Ozzy’s family, other artists and friends of the Rockwelt was also “a huge honor”.
Guns N ‘Roses Tolle Musical Tribute
At the concert, Guns N ‘Roses played four cover versions of Black-Sabbath-Songs-a clear sign of the belief in the band. They also played their own classics such as “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Paradise City”.
That evening, Ozzy Osbourne set a monumental monument to his own career. For the last time he was on stage both as a solo artist and as a front man of Black Sabbath.
