Return after just one season in Munich: VfB Stuttgart has announced a surprising coaching transfer from FC Bayern.

A well -known face returns to Bad Cannstatt: Nate Weiss again becomes a technology trainer at VfB Stuttgart. The DFB Cup winner announced on Monday.

As early as 2021 to 2024, Weiss was active as a coach in the Swabian youth performance center and in the trainer team of the license team. Last season he switched to the campus of FC Bayern as an individual coach.

After a season in Munich, the American is drawn back to the Neckar. He will complement the VfB in the coaching team and work as a technology trainer, according to VfB in its message.

The 37 -year -old Weiss came to VfB Stuttgart from 1. FC Nürnberg in the summer of 2021, where he initially worked in the youth performance center. A year later, however, the then head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo made sure that Weiss rose to the professionals. Above all, he was responsible for improving the technical skills of the players. His departure was considered a big loss.

The club also announced other coaching staff.

Co-coach Malik Fathi has extended his contract early until 2028. Since the 2023/24 season, he has been a team as an assistant to head coach Sebastian Hoeneß.

The contract was also extended with Florian Mohr, which is employed as the head of performance. He has been working with the Swabians since the previous season.

The Stuttgart team started the season preparation with performance tests at the start of the week.

In addition to Nick Woltemade, who was courted by FC Bayern, his national team colleagues Deniz Undav, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Alexander Nübel as well as the Bosnian selection player Ermedin Demirovic were also missing. Unlike Woltemade, the quartet will come back to the team on Saturday at the first test game against SV Fellbach – however, the four professionals should not yet be used.
