Safer and slower
The makeover is not for nothing, the province of Utrecht hopes. She wants to make the road safer and improve the flow. Traffic plateaus will be added to the intersections and the maximum speed goes down to 60 km/hour. There will also be an extra lane for traffic towards Vreeland.
The work is carried out in different phases. First it is the turn and exit of the A2 from Amsterdam to Utrecht’s turn. The exit of the A2 from Amsterdam and the tourit towards Utrecht are then closed.
From July 17 it is also the turn of the other side. Then the entrance and exit in the direction of Amsterdam are closed.
Wider wish
The N201 is a well -known and busy road for people from the neighborhood. Especially at Vinkeveen it is soon traffic jam. With the improvements, that should go a lot smoother in the future. Also in Hilversum there has been a desire to lower the speed of the N201 for some time. Residents previously suffered from the sound of the road.
The work will last until Wednesday, July 23.
