Many years ago a group of Japanese, a huge fan of Wagnerian works and especially of theGold of the Rhine, They decided to descend the mythological river at the origin of the tetralology of the Nibelunghi. But they were wrong river: Instead of what was born on the Alps and flows into the North Sea, they traveled what was born in the Apennines and ends up in the Adriatic.
Lorenzo Pullega’s film was born from that mouthdetermined to explain (to start himself) the charm, the mythologies and the secrets that can boast the Emilian river.
A scene from the film “The gold of the Rhine”
Accompanied by the Fuoricampo voice of a self -styled director who should create a documentary on this Rhine, The film soon leaves the geographical coordinates to pursue memories of the agesinventing new “girls” who instead of the secret of gold have the most impalpable of the pleasure that the sun’s rays give or an afternoon spent dancing waltz and Mazurche.
Does not employ the self -styled director much to lose the geographical coordinates to immerse himself in those of folklorewhere the memories of a glorious past become the signs of a elusive present, and the strength of fantasy takes over everything, including Rhine.
For those who want to unleash the imagination and get lost in the dreamlike charm.
