In an outbuilding next to the HAK factory on the Onderweg in Giessen, a fire raged on Friday evening. The outside of the factory of the vegetable and legumer processor was damaged by the fire. No fire raged in the shed.
Around half past six the fire broke out in the small outbuilding that stands against the side of the factory. The fire brigade was quickly there and had the fire under control after an hour.
The flames hit the side of the HAK factory. The paint on the facade is peeled off from top to bottom by the heat. The damage could be limited to the outside of the shed.
No injured
The emergency services have temporarily dropped the area for extinguishing the fire. Nobody was injured. The fire attracted some attention in the area. The cause of the fire is not clear.
In the Hak factory on the road, vegetable and legumes are processed such as beans, carrots and peas in pot and apple sauce. The company’s head office is also located in Giessen.
